Rumney Marsh is an Area of Critical Environmental Concern–an ACEC. Sadly it is also the site of a trash to energy incinerator and a towering pile of ash. In spite of this, it is a beautiful, albeit sobering, sight. This monotype on Asian paper hopefully captures this dichotomy.

The following view of Rumney marsh is a monotype made with oil pigment sticks.

On a more playful note is this rather large and loose print made with Akua intaglio inks on confetti paper. There are often spectacular cloud formations and sunsets over this salt marsh, especially in fall and winter.
