Kelly Slater is an emerging self-taught artist, most strongly influenced by the post impressionists and the color field school of abstract expressionism.  For the past seven years she has worked towards the goal of achieving her own distinct artistic voice through the exploration of saturated color and figurative abstraction in a variety of media—particularly through watercolors, ink and brush paintings, and the painterly monotype.  Figurative abstracts of landscapes and plants are her current focus.
